How to Experience Arashiyama Monkey Park

activity for most people. Along the way, you’ll encounter lush greenery, peaceful nature, and informative signs that explain the local ecosystem and the behavior of the monkeys.
Once at the top, visitors are rewarded with an incredible panoramic view of Kyoto, including the iconic Kamo River, and on clear days, even as far as the Kyoto Tower. The monkeys in the park roam freely and are
accustomed to human presence, allowing for an up-close experience. The Japanese macaques are wild animals, but the park has a safe environment where visitors can observe them without disturbing their natural
behavior.
At the park's summit, you’ll find an observation area where you can safely feed the monkeys from inside a protective cage. The park provides food (such as apples or peanuts) for visitors to offer the monkeys
through the mesh, allowing for a unique interaction. However, it's important to note that the monkeys are not tame or domesticated, and feeding them through the cage ensures both your safety and the wellbeing
of the animals.
Entrance Fees for Arashiyama Monkey Park
The entrance fee for Arashiyama Monkey Park is 550 yen for adults and 250 yen for children (ages 6-15). Children under the age of 6 can enter for free. This fee covers access to the park and the opportunity to explore the trails and observation areas. There are also additional costs if you decide to purchase food to feed the monkeys, but this is entirely optional.

5. Hiking and Clothing:
The hike up to the park can be somewhat steep, so it’s a good idea to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water, especially on hot days.

7. Hours of Operation:
